Oat & Berry smoothie

Mentioned in my weekly favourites a couple of weeks ago, this smoothie has fast become my go-to breakfast and I've been making it a few days a week. Great when you're running out the door to work, but still want to fit in a good breakfast, this recipe (in the loosest sense, it's very very simple) is great for on the go.

Ingredients

[A blender, NutriBullet or smoothie maker is required]. We have a Breville Blend Active which is amazing for the price (£20 on Amazon) and does a very similar job to a NutiBullet with smoothies at least, although not quite so powerful!

A handful of frozen berries (I use either frozen raspberries or the Ocado mix of raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and red currants - both 2 for £4)
A teaspoon and a half of oats
A squeeze of Agave Syrup
5 Brazil nuts
Almond milk (enough to cover the ingredients)

Method

Best prepped the night before to allow the oats time to soften, begin by adding your berries, followed by the other ingredients to your smoothie bottle or container. Top up with almond milk until the ingredients are covered - the thicker you want your smoothie, the less milk you need to add.

Pop in the fridge to allow the oats to soften and the berries time to defrost (it will still be cold to drink the next day, (promise!) and you can serve over ice if you like your smoothies extra cold). Whizz as you're running out of the door and drink. This one keeps me full until lunchtime and is great for a post gym snack too!
